Ufone-Telenor Merger Rebranding Expected Soon After PTA Approval
The rebranding of the merged Ufone-Telenor mobile operation is expected to take place soon following regulatory approval, according to sources familiar with the matter. However, no official date has yet been announced for the formal launch of the new identity.
Sources within the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) said the regulator has granted conditional approval for the rebranding, subject to the completion of all required legal and corporate formalities. The PTA has also reportedly not received confirmation of any proposed rebranding event on September 15.

The merger has been completed under Pak Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML), bringing the spectrum, network infrastructure and customer base of Ufone and Telenor Pakistan under a single mobile operation. The combined business now serves more than 74 million subscribers across the country.
Following the merger, PTML proposed adopting the global “e&” brand for the combined operation, replacing the existing Ufone and Telenor identities. The company must complete the required legal procedures and notify the PTA before launching commercial or promotional activities under the new brand. PTML has yet to officially announce the final brand name, launch date or detailed transition plan for customers.
