Recently, the PCB announced contract increases for key players, including Babar Azam, Muhammad Rizwan, and team captain Shaheen Shah Afridi, with increases totaling 202%, along with other benefits.
Ashraf assured Babar Azam of his full support but emphasized that the three-year contract would be subject to the players’ performance and could be terminated in case of subpar results.
Regarding the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League, Ashraf clarified that no final decisions had been reached yet, and they would be made in due time, taking into account the prevailing circumstances. He also stated that players are permitted to participate in two additional leagues alongside the PSL, with the approval of the PCB chairman rather than the chief selector, Inzamam-ul-Haq.
