Karachi – Spotify is expanding its audiobooks offering to Pakistan, giving listeners a new way to discover and enjoy stories alongside the music they already love.
Starting November 4, both Free and Premium users on Spotify in Pakistan will be able to purchase a monthly allowance of audiobook hours as an add-on subscription called Audiobooks+. The subscription will give them an allowance of 15 hours to enjoy audiobooks for a recurring monthly charge of PKR 489.
Only time spent actively listening will count towards the monthly allowance, which resets with each billing cycle. Listeners who need additional hours can purchase a 10-hour top-up for PKR 579.

For listeners who want to own an audiobook, Spotify will also offer the option to purchase individual titles à la carte, without the need for a monthly subscription.
The launch comes as part of Spotify’s global expansion of Audiobooks, announced at the Frankfurt Book Fair on October 7. By the end of 2026, Spotify plans to expand its Audiobooks offering to over 180 markets worldwide, giving more than 780 million people access to stream or purchase audiobooks on the platform.
Key features in Pakistan include:
- Audiobook Catalog Access: Audiobooks+ subscribers will have access to over 100,000 titles from Spotify’s global English-language catalog.
- Dedicated Audiobook Discovery: A dedicated Audiobooks tab in the Spotify app, providing a centralized space for users to search, browse, and explore the catalog.
- Seamless Audiobook Features: Designed to fit effortlessly into listeners’ daily routines, including automatic bookmarking, Spotify Sleep Timer, and Page Match, which lets readers switch between a print book or e-book and its audiobook counterpart to pick up where they left off.
- Listen Offline: Download audiobooks to listen without a connection, just like music.
- Never Lose Your Place: Spotify saves your progress across the more than 2,000 devices it’s available on, so you can start on your phone and carry on in the car or on a speaker.

“Books change how we see the world, and the people in it,” said Owen Smith, VP of Audiobooks, Spotify. “For a lot of people, audiobooks are how they find their way back to reading, on the commute, on a walk, or at the end of a long day. Bringing audiobooks to more than 180 markets means millions more people can discover that, and authors and publishers can reach readers they’ve never been able to reach before.”
Three years ago this fall, Spotify brought audiobooks into Premium to build a better home for book lovers, authors and publishers. Over the past year, monthly audiobook listeners grew nearly 40% and listening hours climbed more than 30%. Since launching just over a year ago, Audiobooks+ has grown to more than one million subscribers.
With the expansion into Pakistan, Spotify is giving listeners another way to discover ideas, explore stories, and make the most of their listening time, whether on their daily commute, at home, or on the go.
