Apple Music Finally Launches in Pakistan After 11-Year Wait
Apple expanded Apple Music to four new markets on September 30, 2026, including Pakistan, Albania, Brunei and Burkina Faso, bringing the service’s availability to 172 countries and regions. Pakistan’s launch comes more than 11 years after Apple Music was originally unveiled globally in June 2015. The service had already been available on Android in Pakistan, but iOS users previously faced limitations with local subscription payments.

The launch follows months of beta testing that introduced Pakistan-specific pricing and support for PayPak payments. Pakistani users can subscribe to the individual plan for Rs379 per month or the family plan for Rs649 per month, with both plans offering a one-month free trial. Apple’s entry comes as the local music-streaming market is already well established, with Spotify launching in Pakistan in 2021 and YouTube Music also having an existing user base.
For Pakistani users and local artists, the arrival provides another major global streaming platform, but Apple Music enters an already competitive market. Spotify and YouTube Music users have established playlists, libraries and payment arrangements, meaning Apple will be competing for existing listeners rather than entering an untapped market. The expansion also forms part of Apple’s broader services strategy, with some newly added markets receiving additional Apple service-bundling benefits.
