Residents in Several KP Cities Welcome Governor’s Rule and Emergency
Residents in several parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Swat, Shangla, Batkhela, Kohat, Chitral and Peshawar, have reportedly welcomed the imposition of Governor’s Rule and an emergency in the province.
According to the reports, supporters of the decision said the federal government’s move could help bring an end to years of terrorism, insecurity and political unrest in the province. They also expressed the view that the change would improve the security situation.
Residents critical of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government claimed that the provincial administration had failed to address security challenges effectively. They welcomed the federal government’s decision, arguing that a change in governance was needed to restore peace and stability.
In Peshawar, some residents criticised the pace of development projects, alleging that public initiatives had stalled while the chief minister focused on rallies and political gatherings. They expressed satisfaction with the federal government’s move and described their celebrations as “Youm-e-Nijaat,” or a day of deliverance, marking what they view as an end to PTI’s rule in the province.
