A ceremony was held in Dhaka to commemorate the milestone, attended by clients, regulators and senior HBL executives. Distinguished participants included Sultan Ali Allana, Chairman of HBL; Muhammad Nassir Salim, President and CEO of HBL; Farhan Talib, Head International at HBL; and Alamgir Morshed, Country Manager Bangladesh.
Over the past five decades, HBL has established a strong presence in Bangladesh by supporting businesses and financial institutions involved in domestic and international markets. Bangladesh remains an important part of HBL’s regional footprint and its strategy of connecting businesses, capital and opportunities across key trade corridors linking South Asia, China, the Middle East and Africa.
HBL said its international network provides businesses in Bangladesh with greater access to key global markets and strengthens cross-border economic connectivity. The bank’s Bangladesh operations now also offer RMB/CNY account services to clients. HBL is among three banks from South Asia and the MENA region offering end-to-end RMB intermediation in China, supporting cross-border trade and financial flows and engagement with leading Chinese state-owned enterprises and financial institutions.
