Bata India has crossed 2,000 stores and plans to expand to 3,000 outlets, targeting growth in Tier III and IV towns through franchising. India, which accounts for nearly 20% of the group’s global revenue, remains Bata’s largest market and manufacturing hub. The company sells ∼50 million pairs annually across retail and online channels.
Digital is becoming a key growth driver. 90% of stores now act as hyperlocal fulfilment centers, and e-commerce is projected to contribute 20%-25% of revenue in the coming years. Bata is also scaling its zero-based merchandising format from 775 to 900 stores by end-2026 to improve inventory efficiency and margins.
