New IG Sindh Pays Tribute to Police Martyrs After Taking Office
Karachi, January 1, 2026 – Javed Alam Odho has formally assumed charge as the Inspector General of Sindh Police following a notification issued by the federal government. He becomes the 86th Inspector General in the history of Sindh Police.
Upon his arrival at the Central Police Office (CPO) Karachi, Odho was presented with a guard of honor by a smartly turned‑out contingent of Sindh Police. He later visited the Police Martyrs’ Monument, where he laid a floral wreath and offered prayers in tribute to the fallen officers.
Paying homage to the sacrifices of the martyrs, the new IG prayed for the elevation of their ranks and reaffirmed his commitment to honoring their legacy. Odho also held meetings with senior police officials at the CPO to discuss priorities and future plans.
