On Sunday, personnel from the Pakistan Customs at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle 23 iPhones 15 Pro Max, with an estimated value of Rs9.2 million. According to Syed Irfan Ali, a Customs spokesperson, the vigilant staff stationed at the International Arrival Lounge apprehended a female passenger arriving in Karachi from Sharjah via Air Arabia flight G9-542.

Upon suspicion and questioning in the green channel, the passenger’s responses raised concerns. Subsequent scanning of her luggage revealed empty boxes of mobile phones and graphics cards, prompting the Customs staff to transfer the luggage to the examination counter. Upon closer inspection, 23 iPhones 15 Pro Max were discovered tied to the woman’s body, with a total estimated value of Rs9.2 million and an additional payable duty tax of Rs4.3 million.
