Son, Wife Arrested for Alleged Murder of 80-Year-Old Father

LAHORE: Police have arrested a man and his wife for allegedly shooting and killing the man’s 80-year-old father over a property dispute in the Gujjarpura area.

According to police, the victim, Muhammad Azim, was allegedly shot by his own son following a dispute over property. The suspects reportedly fled the scene after the incident.

Following the incident, DIG Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza ordered the immediate arrest of the suspects. An investigation team led by Gujjarpura Investigation In-charge Mumtaz Hussain carried out an operation and arrested both suspects with the help of human intelligence and professional investigative techniques.

SP Investigation Civil Lines Ghulam Dastagir said the suspects were taken into custody following the successful operation. DIG Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza said a strong case would be prepared against the suspects and efforts would be made to ensure they receive punishment according to law. SSP Muhammad Naveed also announced commendation certificates for the police team involved in the arrests.
