Honor’s upcoming Robot Phone has appeared in a leaked hands-on video ahead of its official launch in China, offering an early look at the company’s flagship smartphone with a unique motorized camera system. Choosing a Premium All-Rounder Smartphone? Focus on These Three Essential Features
The leaked video, which surfaced on Weibo, showcases the retail packaging carrying the slogan “Your First Robot Phone.” Although only a few seconds long, the clip highlights the device’s premium packaging and briefly demonstrates its standout feature—a 4DoF (four degrees of freedom) gimbal camera mounted on a retractable robotic arm. According to previously released information, the camera module can fully deploy in approximately 0.8 seconds, accompanied by an on-screen animation that enhances the user experience.
Leaked Video Offers First Look at Honor Robot Phone Before Official Debut
Honor claims the robotic camera system combines a 4DoF gimbal with a dedicated AI coprocessor to deliver advanced image stabilization. The setup is reportedly CIPA 5.5-certified, a stabilization rating typically associated with dedicated cameras rather than smartphones. In the leaked demonstration, the phone is moved around while the camera remains level with the horizon, illustrating the stabilization capabilities. However, some observers have suggested the large camera module could make the device slightly top-heavy.
Based on previous leaks, the Honor Robot Phone is expected to feature a 6.3- or 6.4-inch 1.5K OLED display, a 200MP primary camera, a 200MP telephoto camera, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens. The device is also rumored to include a 6,000mAh battery, balancing battery capacity with the space required for its advanced camera hardware. Honor has not yet officially confirmed these specifications, and they should be treated as preliminary until the company unveils the device.
