MoU Signed to Explore Chitral School of Nursing and Health Sciences
A significant step has been taken toward the proposed establishment of the Chitral School of Nursing and Health Sciences, as the Hunarmandan (HUNARMANDAN) team held a consultative meeting with renowned medical education expert Ayub Jan, one of the founding leaders of North West General Hospital & Research Centre, a public health specialist, health consultant, and social worker.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the concept, need, and future potential of a nursing and health sciences institution in Chitral. They also explored opportunities for collaboration with government bodies, healthcare experts, the private sector, and local stakeholders to assess the feasibility of the proposed initiative.

To formalize future cooperation, Hunarmandan Lead Shafiq Dinar Khan and Ayub Jan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement provides a framework for joint consultations, research, feasibility assessment, and engagement with relevant institutions. The organizers clarified that the MoU does not represent the formal approval or launch of the project but serves as an initial step toward evaluating its viability.
The proposed institution aims to address the challenges faced by Chitral’s youth, particularly female students, who often have to leave the district to pursue nursing and healthcare education. Hunarmandan expressed hope that, with support from the government, educational institutions, the private sector, business community, and local residents, the vision could eventually become a reality, creating improved educational and professional opportunities for the region.
