Lower Chitral DPO Meets Religious Scholars to Strengthen Peace and Social Reforms
Newly appointed District Police Officer (DPO) Lower Chitral, Resham Jahangir, held a consultative meeting with prominent religious scholars at her office to discuss key social challenges and enhance cooperation in maintaining peace and harmony across the district.
During the meeting, the religious scholars highlighted Chitral’s long-standing tradition of religious tolerance, brotherhood, and cultural harmony. They appreciated the police department’s ongoing crackdown on narcotics and recommended additional measures to strengthen efforts against drug abuse.
DPO Resham Jahangir emphasized the important role of religious leaders in preserving peace and promoting social cohesion. She urged the ulema to work closely with the police in combating drug addiction, resolving community disputes, supporting victims, and encouraging positive social reforms.
The DPO also called on the scholars to help educate young people about the responsible use of social media and its impact on society. The religious leaders assured the police of their full cooperation, reaffirming their shared commitment to building a peaceful, secure, and welfare-oriented society in Chitral.
