District Administration Continues Restriction on New Rickshaw Entry in Lower Chitral
The Lower Chitral district administration has extended the ban on the entry of new rickshaws into the district for an additional two months in an effort to tackle increasing traffic congestion and improve traffic management.
A notification issued by Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Lower Chitral stated that Section 144 has been reimposed following the expiry of the previous order. The decision was made on the recommendations of the District Coordination Committee and the Traffic Management Committee, which highlighted the growing pressure on roads, public inconvenience, and road safety concerns.

Officials said the continued restriction is aimed at ensuring smoother traffic flow and reducing congestion in busy areas of the district. The administration believes the measure will help improve overall road management and public safety.
The district administration warned that anyone violating the order will face legal action under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code and other applicable laws. Residents have been urged to cooperate with the authorities and comply with the restrictions to support better traffic regulation across Lower Chitral.
