Pakistan Exports First Berry Honey Shipment to Malaysia, Boosting Agricultural Trade
Pakistan has achieved a milestone in agricultural exports by sending its first shipment of berry honey to Malaysia, facilitated by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). This development marks a significant step in positioning Pakistan as a reliable honey supplier in the global market, reflecting its commitment to diversifying export avenues.

The Ministry of Commerce, with support from the Pakistan High Commission in Kuala Lumpur, is actively working to expand international markets for honey products. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s honey industry, producing 20,000 tons annually through 60,000 honey farms, provides employment to 1.6 million individuals. Plans are underway to invest in bee clusters and processing facilities, with discussions about creating a dedicated “Honey Board” to enhance export potential. This initiative aligns with SIFC’s broader efforts to drive economic growth through strategic agricultural exports.
