Pakistan’s T20I captain, Babar Azam, has made history by surpassing India’s Virat Kohli in T20 International cricket records. In the recent T20I series against Ireland, Babar’s outstanding performance secured him the highest number of fifty-plus scores in T20Is, reaching a total of 39 such scores in 110 innings. This milestone places him ahead of Kohli, who previously held the record with 38 fifty-plus scores in 109 innings.

Babar’s remarkable consistency and ability to convert starts into substantial scores have been highlighted by his achievement of three T20I centuries, compared to Kohli’s one. Additionally, he is poised to become the first Pakistani cricketer to cross the 4000-run mark in T20I cricket, currently standing at 3955 runs, just behind Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Babar needs only 82 more runs to surpass Kohli’s total runs in T20Is.
This achievement comes as the Men in Green secure victory in the T20I series against Ireland. Their next challenge is a four-match T20I series against England, starting on May 22nd.
