The Govt of Sindh Allocates Rs. 4 billion to Construct ‘Central Hospital Karachi’

KARACHI: The Minister for Local Government, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, announced that the Sindh Government will undertake the construction of Central Hospital Karachi for Rs. 4 billion.

The hospital will be built at Federal B Area Water Pump and aims to provide essential healthcare services to the citizens.

Shah emphasized that this initiative is aligned with the vision of Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto, who is committed to the development and welfare of Karachi.

He made these remarks during the foundation stone laying ceremony of Central Hospital Karachi.

The event was attended by Senator Waqar Mehdi, Minister of Labor and Human Resources Saeed Ghani, Secretary LG Najam Ahmad Shah, Director General of KDA Syed Muhammad Ali Shah, and others.

Minister Shah further elaborated that the Central Hospital will provide comprehensive health facilities under the supervision of the Pakistan Medical Association.

The hospital will consist of 6 floors and a basement with 4 towers. It will offer specialized services such as a trauma center, general hospital, cardiology ward, emergency care, gynecology department, and children’s emergency services.

He also stated that the healthcare facilities will be provided using modern approaches. while the Central Hospital will also house a community center and a nursing school.

The construction of Central Hospital Karachi will be executed in phases, with Phase-I being given priority and the estimated cost for Phase-I is Rs. 100 billion.

The Director General of KDA, Syed Muhammad Ali Shah, expressed confidence that with the support of the Sindh Government, the Central Hospital will be completed expeditiously.

He highlighted that the construction would help reclaim the encroached land owned by KDA on the water pump site.
