Oppo is reportedly preparing to launch its first pocket-sized gimbal camera, internally codenamed Fuyao, as the company looks to enter the growing portable vlogging camera market dominated by brands such as DJI and Insta360.
According to tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS), the product could arrive soon, with strong confidence within Oppo about its commercial potential. The company has also reportedly been analysing competing products, suggesting that its launch may not be far away.
Oppo Fuyao Gimbal Camera Targets DJI Osmo Pocket Market
Oppo confirmed last September that it was developing a new imaging product category for release in 2026. Earlier reports from Digital Chat Station identified the project as Fuyao, a pocket-sized gimbal camera designed to compete with DJI’s Osmo Pocket series.

The portable gimbal camera market is becoming increasingly competitive, with Insta360 introducing its Luna Pro and Luna Ultra models. Vivo is also reportedly developing its own compact vlogging camera to challenge DJI.
Oppo Fuyao Could Feature a 200MP Camera Sensor
Previous leaks suggested that both Oppo and Vivo were exploring the use of a 200MP camera sensor measuring 1/1.12-inch for their upcoming pocket gimbal cameras.
Oppo’s device could also feature Hasselblad co-branding, although this detail has not been officially confirmed. Another expected feature is smartphone connectivity, which could allow users to transfer captured photos and videos directly to their phones for editing and sharing.
If these specifications materialise, the Fuyao camera could offer a combination of high-resolution imaging and convenient mobile content creation.
Oppo Reportedly Focuses on Wider Smartphone Designs for 2027
Digital Chat Station has also shared details about Oppo’s reported smartphone strategy for 2027, suggesting that the company will place greater emphasis on wider device designs and artificial intelligence features.
The tipster added that Oppo’s rumoured wide foldable smartphone is nearing design completion. The wider form factor could become part of the company’s next wave of smartphone innovation.
Oppo Find X10 Ultra Launch Reportedly on Hold
In another development, the tipster revealed that Oppo’s Find X10 Ultra is currently on hold and may not launch at all.
While the company appears to be moving forward with its pocket gimbal camera and wider foldable smartphone plans, the status of the Find X10 Ultra remains uncertain.
Oppo has yet to officially announce the Fuyao camera’s specifications, pricing or launch date. More details are expected to emerge as the product moves closer to its anticipated release.
