Apple Unveils iPhone Duo: First Foldable iPhone With 7.6-Inch Display
Apple has officially introduced the iPhone Duo, its first foldable iPhone, featuring a 7.6-inch inner display, a 5.4-inch outer screen, the new A20 Pro chip and a redesigned iOS 27 experience. The company says the device combines a large-screen experience with a compact design when folded.
Dual Displays and Foldable Design
The iPhone Duo features a 7.6-inch inner Super Retina XDR display when opened and a 5.4-inch outer display when folded. Both screens support ProMotion, Always On functionality and up to 3,000 nits of peak outdoor brightness. A nano-texture finish is designed to reduce glare and reflections while minimizing the visibility of the crease.

Apple has built the phone using grade 5 titanium, with Ceramic Shield protection and an IP68 rating for water, splash and dust resistance. Its precision hinge uses more than 100 components and is designed to provide smooth opening and closing while reinforcing the device’s structural strength.
48MP Camera System
The iPhone Duo comes with a 48MP Fusion Main camera and a 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide camera, along with an integrated optical-quality 2x Telephoto capability. The camera system supports advanced low-light photography and new features made possible by the foldable design.
For video recording, the device supports 4K at 120 frames per second in Dolby Vision. Apple has also introduced features such as Smart Take, Duo Preview and Duo FaceTime, allowing users to take advantage of both displays when capturing photos and making video calls.
A20 Pro Chip and AI Features
Under the hood, the iPhone Duo is powered by Apple’s A20 Pro chip, paired with a custom vapor chamber for improved thermal management. Apple says the device can deliver up to 35% better sustained performance than the iPhone 17 Pro, while its CPU is up to 20% faster and GPU up to 40% faster than the A19 Pro.

The foldable iPhone also introduces Siri AI and expanded Apple Intelligence capabilities through iOS 27. Siri AI can use personal context, interact with information displayed on screen and perform tasks across supported apps, while Apple Intelligence adds new image and productivity features.
Battery and Multitasking
Apple says the iPhone Duo can provide up to 31 hours of video playback using the inner display and up to 44 hours using the outer display. The dual-battery architecture is designed to maximize available internal space while supporting fast charging.
The large inner display also enables Split View multitasking, allowing users to run two apps side by side, switch between applications and even open two windows of the same app.
iPhone Duo Price and Availability
The iPhone Duo starts at $1,999 in the United States and will be offered with 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB storage options. Apple says pre-orders will begin on October 16, 2026, with availability starting October 23 in more than 70 countries and regions.
The phone will be available in Star White and Night Sky. Apple will also offer an iPhone Duo Case for $79 and an iPhone Duo Folio with Kickstand for $129 in the US.
