Dozens Killed as Pakistani Forces Strike Taliban Positions Across Multiple Sectors
According to security-source reports, Pakistan launched “Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq” in response to what officials described as unprovoked firing by the Afghan Taliban along the border. Pakistani forces reportedly killed 133 طالبان fighters, injured over 200, destroyed 27 check posts, and eliminated three battalions along with a sector headquarters. More than 80 armored assets and artillery units were allegedly destroyed. Pakistan reported two soldiers killed and three injured during the clashes.
Tensions Escalate Along Pak-Afghan Border Amid Claims of Attacks and Counterattacks
Fighting was reported across several frontier regions, including Bajaur, Khyber, and Chitral, where Pakistani troops said they demolished multiple Taliban positions. Additional engagements were cited in Mohmand sectors and Afghanistan’s Paktika province, where a post was reportedly captured after fighters fled. Officials also claimed several militant hideouts were destroyed near Kurram and that attempted quadcopter drone attacks on Pakistani posts were intercepted.

Security officials further alleged that after suffering losses, Taliban forces shelled civilian areas, wounding five residents in Bajaur’s Laghari locality. Pakistan stated that its forces raised the national flag over captured posts and that the Pakistan Air Force struck an ammunition depot in Nangarhar and additional logistics sites in Kandahar. Authorities emphasized that border defense and national security would not be compromised as tensions persist.
