Inflation Woes Deepen as Cooking Oil and Ghee Prices Soar Amid Global Supply Crisis
Another setback for inflation-hit citizens as the prices of ghee and cooking oil have surged by Rs 10 per kilogram, placing further strain on already burdened household budgets.
According to market sources, the wholesale price of ghee and cooking oil has risen to Rs 510 per kg, while the price of a 12-kg tin has climbed to Rs 6,124. In retail markets, consumers are now forced to pay Rs 520 per kg, sparking frustration among buyers and traders alike. Many households already struggling with soaring inflation are bracing for additional financial pressure on daily essentials.

Manufacturing companies have attributed the latest price hike to ongoing global supply chain disruptions and geopolitical tensions, which have driven up the costs of raw materials and international shipping.
Economic experts have warned that if such increases remain unchecked, they could fuel a broader inflationary trend across other essential commodities, further weakening the purchasing power of the average consumer.
