Delhi Police apprehended a Class 9 student in Najafgarh for allegedly stealing his mother’s gold jewelry to purchase an iPhone and finance his girlfriend’s birthday party. The incident came to light when the boy’s mother reported a house theft, prompting an investigation that led to the minor’s involvement.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the boy had sold his mother’s gold jewelry to two different goldsmiths in the Kakrola area to gather funds for the gifts. Despite initial denials, the boy eventually confessed to the theft after being found with the iPhone. The police also arrested a goldsmith involved in purchasing the stolen items and recovered part of the jewelry.

The boy, who lost his father to illness and showed little interest in studies, reportedly committed the theft after his mother denied him money for the birthday celebration. Angered by her refusal, he resorted to stealing the jewelry, highlighting the pressures and challenges faced by young individuals in managing relationships and societal expectations.
