Six individuals of Pakistani nationality have been apprehended in Riyadh for their involvement in a gold robbery amounting to SR 10.6 million. The prompt action by Riyadh Police followed a complaint from a gold shop, reporting the kidnapping of a Yemeni employee by the gang of perpetrators. The victim was forcibly taken to the gold shop, compelled to open it, and subsequently, the gang seized gold valued at SR 10.6 million before making their escape in a car.

A dedicated task force was assembled to investigate the complaint, revealing that the six-member gang had utilized a rented vehicle for the robbery, secured through fraudulent documentation. The Riyadh Police successfully apprehended the suspects, even intercepting two individuals attempting a final exit after an extended stay in Saudi Arabia. Before their departure, they engaged in criminal activities, intending to use cargo services to transport the stolen goods to Pakistan. Their plans were nearly executed at the Jeddah and Riyadh sea cargo offices, but timely intervention prevented their escape with the stolen items.

The police spokesperson disclosed that the gang had confessed to a previous jewelry store robbery, where they stole jewelry worth SR 5 million. Further investigations into their cargo packaging exposed 1,225 newly pilfered mobile sets from a telecommunication company, valued at SR 600,000. These confiscated items are now in police custody. While the gang of six has been arrested, information regarding the penalties they will face has not been disclosed.
