According to the PTA, inspections covered 39 sites in Lahore, 17 in Karachi, 16 in Sukkur, 14 each in Multan and Rawalpindi, eight in Quetta, four in Abbottabad and three in Gilgit. The teams evaluated voice and data services, network coverage, backup power arrangements and overall service availability. The authority also reported improvements in mobile service quality in several areas covered by the inspections.
The monitoring exercise focused on common consumer complaints, including failed connections, dropped calls, slow mobile internet speeds and coverage gaps. Field teams also reviewed public feedback and engaged with local administrations, elected representatives and community members to identify connectivity problems. Mobile network operators are directed to take corrective action wherever technical faults or deficiencies are identified at their sites.
The PTA said it remains committed to strengthening regulatory oversight and ensuring timely resolution of network-related complaints. Through regular inspections and coordination with telecom operators, the authority aims to improve the reliability, availability and performance of mobile services and provide consumers across Pakistan with a better telecommunications experience.
