Huawei Mate 90, Pro Max and RS Models Appear in Live Photos Ahead of Debut
Live images of Huawei’s upcoming Mate 90 series have surfaced online, offering a closer look at the design of the company’s next flagship smartphones. The phones have reportedly begun reaching authorized retail stores in China, with offline distribution already underway. Huawei has now officially scheduled the Mate 90 series launch event for October 1, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. local time.
The leaked images show the Mate 90 series retaining Huawei’s distinctive circular camera-module design, while introducing changes to the rear panel. The upper section features horizontal and vertical lines that create a brushed, two-tone appearance, while the lower portion has a simpler matte finish. The design combines glossy and textured elements, giving the phones a noticeably different look from previous Mate models.
The live photos also reveal several color options beyond the traditional black and white variants. A dynamic green finish has appeared in the leaked images, while the premium Mate 90 RS Ultimate is reportedly shown with a distinctive red dual-tone rear panel. The RS model also appears to have a larger and slightly wider camera module than its predecessor. Some reported specifications and color configurations remain unconfirmed until Huawei’s official launch.
The Mate 90 lineup is expected to include the standard Mate 90, Mate 90 Pro, Mate 90 Pro Max and Mate 90 RS models. Reports indicate that the series will feature Huawei’s latest Kirin flagship processor and upgraded camera technology, although full specifications and pricing have yet to be officially confirmed. With the launch now officially set for October 1, more details are expected to emerge ahead of the event.
