Meta’s Muse Expands Its Reach with Spotify Integration and Smart Playlist Automation
Meta’s AI assistant, Muse, is rapidly expanding its capabilities beyond email, calendars, and payments. Just two weeks after its launch, Spotify has integrated with the personal AI agent, allowing users to control music playback, discover content, save tracks, and create playlists entirely through natural conversation. Users can simply ask Muse to play songs, podcasts, or audiobooks, making music management more seamless and hands-free than ever before.

The Spotify partnership goes beyond basic voice commands. Muse can transform written notes, briefings, and personal content into Spotify Personal Podcasts, converting text into listenable audio. Unlike traditional chatbot features built into music apps, Muse leverages contextual information from connected services. For example, if a road trip appears on a user’s calendar, the AI can automatically generate a themed playlist and start playing it when the journey begins. Similarly, Muse can create workout playlists or focus music tailored to a user’s daily routine and schedule.
While some music enthusiasts may hesitate to hand over playlist curation to artificial intelligence, the integration focuses on automation rather than music recommendations. Spotify already offers AI-driven discovery tools, while Muse adds convenience by handling routine tasks. The AI assistant is already connected to services including Gmail, Google Calendar, Outlook, OpenTable, Peloton, Plaid, Stripe, and Shopify. As Spotify currently stands as the only major music-streaming platform directly integrated into the Muse ecosystem, the partnership could provide a significant advantage as Meta continues expanding the AI assistant’s reach, including integration with its smart glasses platform.
