ARY Digital Moves Drama Streaming Exclusively to ARY Plus App

ARY Digital’s YouTube channel has been a major platform for Pakistani drama content. Its 2024 blockbuster Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, for example, accumulated around 206 million views across 34 episodes, while its final episode alone reportedly attracted about 60 million views on YouTube.

ARY Plus, owned by the ARY Group, already offers a wide catalogue of ARY Digital dramas and telefilms, along with movies produced by ARY Films and live streams of the group’s television channels. The shift is therefore expected to further strengthen the group’s own digital streaming platform.

The development comes amid growing efforts to expand Pakistani entertainment content on global and domestic streaming platforms. In July, ARY Digital CEO Salman Iqbal backed Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal’s initiative for a homegrown streaming platform aimed at taking Pakistani content to international audiences. Salman said Pakistan possessed the technology and creative talent needed to build its own successful streaming ecosystem and claimed that ARY Digital had previously been approached by Netflix for content.
