Meta Recognises FIA’s Single Point of Contact, Enabling Faster Digital Evidence Access
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has set up a direct communication channel with Meta Asia Pacific (APAC) through its newly established National Command and Control Centre (NC3). The move follows Meta’s formal recognition of the FIA’s nominated Single Point of Contact (SPOC), enabling secure and direct coordination for lawful information requests, officials confirmed.
Under the new framework, all requests related to Meta‑owned platforms—including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp—will be routed exclusively through the NC3. These include preservation requests, subscriber details, login IP histories, content removal requests, and emergency disclosures, all processed in accordance with applicable laws and legal procedures.

FIA’s New NC3 Links Directly with Meta to Strengthen Investigations into Organised Crime
The FIA stated that the mechanism is designed to expedite access to digital evidence, shorten response times, and strengthen cooperation in investigations involving cybercrime, terrorism, organised crime, human trafficking, and financial offences. An investigating officer will compile the case file with the required legal documentation, which, after approval, will be forwarded to the designated SPOC at NC3 for submission to Meta through the newly established channel.
FIA officials said the initiative is part of a broader effort to modernise investigative capabilities and deepen collaboration with global technology firms. The agency aims to improve digital law enforcement and facilitate the timely acquisition of electronic evidence in cross‑border investigations, reinforcing Pakistan’s commitment to combating cyber‑enabled crimes.
