606 Tolas of Gold and Diamonds Stolen in Historic Robbery, FIR Lodged
Karachi has witnessed the biggest robbery in its history. Thieves broke through the wall of a jewelry shop located in District West’s Iqbal Market and escaped with gold worth 300 million rupees. The case was registered on the complaint of jeweler Ayub Khan.
According to the FIR, the shop was closed as usual on the 12th of the month. When craftsmen opened it on the 14th, they found the boxes empty. Upon inspection, the back wall was discovered broken. The stolen items included 7,064 grams of custom-made gold jewelry, along with diamonds and other valuables. In total, the robbers took away 606 tolas of gold and diamonds worth 2.5 million rupees.
Police have registered the case and initiated legal proceedings against the unknown culprits.
