Two Soldiers Martyred, Nine Militants Eliminated in Pakistan’s Anti-Terror Crackdown

Pakistan’s security forces successfully neutralized nine militants affiliated with the Indian-sponsored terror group “Fitna Al Khwarij” during a series of intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on May 17 and 18, 2024. The operations took place in Lakki Marwat, Bannu, and North Waziristan as part of a broader campaign to eliminate terrorist threats from the region. Officials confirmed that all militants killed had direct links to the foreign-backed proxy network working to destabilize Pakistan’s internal security.
In Lakki Marwat, five militants were eliminated in a precise, intelligence-led operation, while two more were taken down in a swift action in Bannu District. The forces demonstrated remarkable efficiency, ensuring no civilian casualties while successfully dismantling these terror cells. Meanwhile, in North Waziristan’s Mir Ali area, militants ambushed a convoy of security forces. In the ensuing gun battle, two attackers were killed, though tragically, the clash claimed the lives of two brave soldiers: Sepoy Farhad Ali Turi and Lance Naik Sabir Afridi, who both laid down their lives in the line of duty.
Following these engagements, sanitization operations are underway to secure the areas and eliminate any remaining threats. Military officials reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering resolve to root out terrorism and confront any foreign-sponsored proxy groups operating within its borders. The nation stands united in honoring the bravery of its soldiers and in rejecting external attempts to undermine its peace and stability.
