Gunmen hijack train in Pakistan’s Balochistan, take hundreds hostage
In Bolan, security forces successfully conducted a clearance operation to rescue 80 passengers who had been taken hostage by militants aboard the Jaffar Express. The train, en route from Quetta to Peshawar, came under attack by militants who held the passengers captive.

According to security sources, the rescued passengers include 43 men, 26 women, and 11 children. Efforts are underway to safely recover the remaining passengers. Intense gunfire continues between the security forces and militants, with reports confirming the death of 13 militants and injuries to several others.
Sources also revealed that the operation has caused the militants to break into smaller groups. Injured passengers have been transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Additional security personnel have been deployed to bolster the ongoing operation, and the militants have been encircled. Security forces have vowed to continue the operation until the last militant is neutralized.
Meanwhile, railway officials stated that the Jaffar Express comprises nine carriages and was carrying over 400 passengers when it departed from Quetta at 9 AM this morning.
