“Pakistan Railways Achieves Record Growth in Passengers and Revenue for 2023-24”
Pakistan Railways experienced significant growth during the 2023-24 period, with 41.91 million passengers traveling by train—a 6.51 million increase from the previous year. This surge contributed to a record Rs. 47.712 billion in passenger revenue, surpassing the target by Rs. 8.712 billion and marking a Rs. 13.799 billion increase from 2022-23. Additionally, freight services, military transport, and property rentals generated Rs. 39.803 billion, showcasing a strong overall performance.

To sustain this momentum, Pakistan Railways has introduced new passenger facilities, including dining cars, mobile charging stations, water dispensers, and Ticket Vending Machines. The organization is also focusing on punctuality through track maintenance, signaling upgrades, and new train coaches.
A dedicated call center under the Railway Automated Booking and Travelling Assistance (RABTA) system now addresses passenger complaints and enhances support services. These initiatives reflect Pakistan Railways’ commitment to improving passenger satisfaction and ensuring a more reliable and comfortable travel experience.
