Abu Dhabi to Ban Styrofoam Products to Combat Plastic Pollution

Abu Dhabi will ban disposable Styrofoam products, including cups, lids, plates, and takeaway containers, starting June 1, 2024, as part of its green strategy to tackle plastic pollution. This initiative, led by the Environment Agency in Abu Dhabi, builds on previous efforts such as the 2022 ban on single-use plastic bags, aiming to significantly reduce the use of single-use consumer products and support environmental sustainability.
