Thirteen members of a family died and nine others were injured when the truck they were traveling in fell into a gorge on Saturday.
Rescue sources reported that the family of laborers was en route to Khushab from Bannu when the vehicle’s brakes failed, causing it to veer off the road and plummet into a gorge. Among the deceased were five women.
The injured and deceased were transported to Nowshera THQ hospital, where the bodies will be handed over to the family after legal formalities.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and directed authorities to provide the best possible treatment to the injured.
