Sana Mir Named Ambassador for ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier

Former Pakistan captain Sana Mir has been appointed as the ambassador for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier, where she will closely monitor the 10 participating teams and players during the tournament. With her vast experience, having played 226 internationals and captained in 137 matches, Sana is eagerly anticipating the intense competition for the two finalist spots, which will secure a place in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Bangladesh later this year. The tournament will take place in Abu Dhabi from April 25 to May 7.

Sana is excited about her role and looks forward to providing guidance to the teams and players on dealing with the pressure of such events and what it takes to succeed. She believes that the women’s game has become more competitive, and the Qualifier will provide excellent exposure to Associate Member teams. The tournament format includes two groups of five teams each, with the top two from each group advancing to the semi-finals. Sana is particularly interested in the progress of players from Zimbabwe, with whom she worked during the ICC Women’s U19 T20 World Cup last year.
