Kalash Valley Development Authority (KVDA) distributed free plants among the students of Government High School Bumborat in the Kalash valley. The initiative, conducted under the auspices of KVDA, saw Director General Minhasuddin as the chief guest. A simple function was held at the school where the importance and objectives of trees and plants were highlighted by the principal and other experts.
Lower Chitral Launches Major Plantation Initiative: 200,000 Saplings to Be Distributed Free
In this plantation campaign, the forest department provided free plants which were distributed among the students with the help of a non-governmental organization. Minhasuddin and others emphasized the importance of plants and their positive effects on climate change. Additionally, Minhasuddin distributed 700 fruit plants for free to the people of Kalash, stressing their importance in the region’s dry climate. He explained that planting more saplings could help prevent flood losses as the trees act as natural check dams, reducing the speed of flash floods.
