Pakistani Student Maha Yusuf Makes History with Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University
Maha Yusuf, hailing from Jhang district in Pakistan, has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first Pakistani woman to earn a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering. Her accomplishment was marked by receiving her doctoral degree from Stanford University in California.

During her time at Stanford, Maha Yusuf focused her research on utilizing advanced imaging diagnostic tools to study the failure mechanisms of fast-charging lithium-ion batteries. Her groundbreaking work has earned her recognition, including being selected for the prestigious “Presidential Post Doctorate 2023” program at Princeton University in the United States.
Prior to her Ph.D., Maha completed her Master’s in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University in 2017. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from NUST University in Pakistan in 2013.
