In a significant collaboration, Diamond Paints has reaffirmed its commitment to education by signing an agreement to sponsor scholars from the National Outreach Programme (NOP) at a memorandum of understanding (MOU) ceremony held on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. The agreement was formalized during the ceremony, with Dr. Tariq Jadoon, Provost of LUMS, representing the university, and Mr. Mir Shoaib Ahmed, CEO of Diamond Paints, signing on behalf of the company.

The MOU ceremony was graced by the presence of key figures from Diamond Paints, including Mr. Mir Khuzaima Ahmed, Ms. Sana Ahmed, Directors of Diamond Paints, and Ms. Roha Ahmed. LUMS’ leadership was also in attendance, including Syed Babar Ali, Founding Pro-Chancellor; Mr. Shahid Hussain, Rector; Dr. Tariq Jadoon, Provost; Dr. Basit Yameen, Associate Professor at the Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering (SBASSE); and Mr. Anas Ashraf, Head of Development at the Office of Advancement.
During the ceremony, the esteemed guests were briefed on LUMS’ strategic developments and the profound impact of the NOP. This scholarship program, initiated in 2001, aims to provide quality education to exceptionally talented students, regardless of their financial background. Notably, the NOP has earned global recognition, receiving the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Platinum Award in 2021 in the category of ‘Best Practices in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.’ The CASE Platinum Awards are prestigious accolades that honor world-class programs and practices in educational advancement.
