Out of 30 utility stores in North Waziristan, only two stores are operational. People are facing difficulties due to non-functioning of utility stores. Among the active utility stores, one is located in North Waziristan headquarters Miranshah while the other is located in Razmak sub-division Sarobi, remaining 28 utility stores are closed.

Locals have alleged that all these utility stores receive the goods every month but the store owners sell it to other shopkeepers in the market.

Kamran, who belongs to Dande Darpa Khel, told TNN that there is a utility store near his house which is closed all the time. The store receives regular supplies every month but has talked to shopkeepers in the market to sell all the supplies to them.

Naseem Wazir, a resident of Ghulam Khan Tehsil, says that there are two utility stores in his Tehsil, but both are closed.

Shahnawaz belongs to Mir Ali sub-division. Mir Ali sub-division is the most populous tehsil of North Waziristan. Out of 7 utility stores in Mir Ali, not a single one is operational. Shahnawaz said that we appeal to the district administration to re-evaluate the people who have been given utility stores and cancel the NOC of the utility stores which are closed throughout the month.

On the other hand, Shah Faisal, in-charge of Miranshah Utility Store, said that they get supplies every month, but the people of the entire Miranshah tehsil come to them and the supplies run out in two days.

In this regard, North Waziristan Additional Deputy Commissioner Bashir Ahmed Khan confirmed that most of the utility stores are not functional and they either sell the goods in bins or sell them to other shopkeepers in Miranshah, who have received many complaints in this regard. have been received.

Bashir Ahmad said that he has collected the data of all 30 utility stores in North Waziristan and informed the head office of the utility stores about it. Action will be taken against the utility stores which are not functional.
