Chitrali Influencer Sana, 17, Reached 1.3 Million Followers on TikTok and Instagram Combined
Sana, a popular social media influencer from Upper Chitral, had gained remarkable online fame at just 17 years old, amassing over 800,000 followers on TikTok and 500,000 on Instagram. Known for her engaging lifestyle content and bold advocacy for women’s rights, Sana was one of the emerging digital voices from northern Pakistan.

Her untimely death follows similar tragic incidents, such as the case of Hira in Quetta, raising fresh concerns about the safety and mental health challenges faced by female influencers in Pakistan. The situation is further complicated by intermittent bans on TikTok in the country, which often disrupt the livelihoods of countless young creators.
Commenting on the issue, social media expert Rizvi stressed the importance of recognizing and supporting digital content creation as a legitimate profession. He urged for safer online spaces and better institutional backing for Pakistan’s growing community of female influencers navigating the digital world.
