Two Kilometers Per Second: BYD Achieves “Fuel and Electricity Parity” with Flash Charging
BYD has introduced its Super e-Platform, a groundbreaking electric vehicle architecture that promises to eliminate charging anxiety by matching the refueling speeds of gasoline cars. This platform achieves a megawatt (1,000kW) charging power, enabling two kilometers of range to be added per second. The platform’s core components—motor, electronic control, and battery—have been significantly upgraded, resulting in a five-minute flash charge for 400 kilometers of driving range and top speeds exceeding 300 km/h in its initial models.

1,360kW Charging: BYD Unveils Megawatt Stations and “Dual-Gun” Technology for Ultra-Fast Charging
To support the Super e-Platform’s ultra-rapid charging capabilities, BYD has developed and mass-produced a new generation of automotive-grade silicon carbide (SiC) power chips and a “Flash Charging Battery” with an ultra-fast ion channel. Furthermore, BYD has created a full liquid-cooled megawatt flash-charging terminal system with a maximum output of 1,360kW. The company plans to deploy over 4,000 megawatt flash-charging stations across China.
BYD’s 1,000V Architecture and Flash Battery Redefine EV Performance and Charging Speed
In addition to its own charging infrastructure, BYD has introduced “dual-gun charging” technology, which allows existing fast chargers to be upgraded to ultra-fast chargers. This intelligent boost technology ensures compatibility with public charging stations, expanding charging convenience for EV users. BYD’s innovations aim to redefine electric mobility and solidify China’s position as a leader in global electrification technology.
