12 Dead, 13 Injured in Tragic Lorry Crash on Indus Highway

At least 12 people lost their lives, and 13 were injured when a 22-wheeler lorry lost control due to brake failure and collided with multiple vehicles at Ambiri Kala Chowk on the Indus Highway in Karak. According to Deputy Commissioner Karak, the accident resulted in devastating damage, including a passenger bus crushed under the lorry. Emergency responders are still working at the site, with fears that the death toll may rise as they continue to pull out bodies and survivors.

The lorry driver, identified as Samiullah from Lakki Marwat, was injured in the crash and is currently under arrest at a local hospital. Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has taken notice of the tragedy, urging authorities to ensure immediate medical aid for the injured. He also called on Pakistan Red Crescent teams to intensify rescue and relief operations and appealed to locals for blood donations to support the victims.
