Pakistani-Made Tractors Enter Tanzania, Boosting Export Relations with East Africa

Pakistan’s export portfolio in East Africa, opening doors for potential growth in tractor exports

In a significant boost for Pakistan’s export sector, the first consignment of Pakistani-made tractors has arrived in Tanzania, marking an important milestone in Pakistan’s trade relations with East Africa. This breakthrough was achieved through the efforts of Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, Secretary Commerce Jawad Paul, and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), led by Chief Executive Zubair Multiwala and Secretary Shehyar Taj. The import process received vital support from Pakistan’s High Commission in Kenya, where High Commissioner Ibrar Hussain and Commercial Counsellor Adeela Younis coordinated closely with Kenya-based Masai Trekta Company Ltd to ensure smooth execution of the transaction.

Masai Trekta Company Ltd has recently launched its tractor distribution head office in Tanzania, becoming a crucial partner in distributing Pakistani ATS tractors across the country, with plans to expand further into East Africa. Imported from Lahore-based Pak-Tractors House, these tractors are expected to strengthen Pakistan’s export portfolio in East Africa, opening doors for potential growth in tractor exports to Tanzania and surrounding nations. Federal Minister Jam Kamal Khan acknowledged the collaborative efforts between government officials, TDAP, and the High Commission, underscoring the significance of such trade developments in supporting Pakistan’s manufacturing sector and establishing a strong economic presence in Africa.
