Karachi Scorched by Heatwave with “Feels Like” Temperature Reaching 51°C, PMD Warns of Continued Heat

Karachi endured extreme heat on Monday with “feels like” temperatures recorded at 51°C around 2pm, as the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasts a partial heatwave to persist for the next three days. According to PMD’s chief meteorologist, Sardar Sarfraz, the city’s temperatures are expected to exceed 40°C, with blocked sea breezes during the day intensifying the heat. Citizens are advised to stay hydrated and protect themselves from the extreme weather.

Temperatures may slightly drop by Wednesday, with expected highs of 37°C to 39°C. The PMD also forecasts above-normal monsoon rains for southern Sindh, including Karachi, starting in early July.
