Dr. Helen Mary Roberts has been promoted to brigadier in the Pakistan Army Medical Corps, making her the first female brigadier from Pakistan’s Christian community. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated Brigadier Roberts on her historic promotion, acknowledging her as a trailblazer for minority communities in Pakistan.

With 26 years of service as a pathologist, Brigadier Roberts exemplifies merit and national representation within the Pakistan Army, as noted by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR). Her achievement follows Maj Gen Nigar Johar’s milestone in 2020, when she became the first female officer promoted to lieutenant general and the first female surgeon general in the Pakistan Army.
