Economically challenged Pakistanis have spent $540 million on tea imports in the past 10 months. According to the Bureau of Statistics, Pakistanis spent $547.4 million on tea imports in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year, a 17% increase compared to the previous fiscal year’s $467.6 million.

The report further states that there was a 15% increase in the quantity of tea imported, with 219,066 tons brought in during the current fiscal year compared to 190,830 tons in the same period last year. However, tea imports decreased by 10% from March 2024 to April 2024, with $52.2 million worth of tea imported in April compared to $58.5 million in March.
