A delegation from the Fruit Juice Council met with Federal Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain in Islamabad. The meeting, attended by industry leaders from companies like Nestle, Shezan, TetraPak, PepsiCo, Haleeb Foods, and Popular Group, discussed concerns regarding increased tariff rates, including Federal Excise Duty (FED) and Goods and Services Tax (GST). The delegation highlighted a significant 40% decline in juice sales due to these tax hikes, impacting the rural economy and fruit growers associated with the sector.

Minister Hussain assured the delegation of the government’s commitment to facilitating exports and supporting local industries amidst challenges. He requested the Council to submit a comprehensive proposal to enhance exports and address current industry challenges.
