During the hearing, Imran Khan emphasized that his wife had no involvement in the case and was being unjustly implicated. The IHC Chief Justice mentioned that the cipher case would be completed shortly, but the Toshakhana case would be postponed until after Eid due to ongoing hearings in the cipher case. The couple was also sentenced to seven years in prison each in a case related to their marriage.

The Toshakhana reference filed by the NAB alleged that Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi retained the Graff Jewelry set gifted by the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia without due assessment. The reference claimed that they violated Toshakhana procedures by not depositing the gift for transparent assessment and unduly influenced appraisers to undervalue the gift. The court found that the assessments were significantly undervalued, leading to the illegal retention of the jewelry set.
