Atlas Honda Unveils First Electric Motorcycle ‘BENLY e’ in Pakistan
Atlas Honda, one of Pakistan’s leading motorcycle manufacturers, has introduced its inaugural electric vehicle (EV) model, the Honda BENLY e. The unveiling took place at a ceremony held at Atlas Honda’s Sheikhupura plant, commemorating the company’s 60th year of operations in Pakistan. Despite not specifying the launch date, the company announced that the Honda BENLY e would undergo test marketing, with future products tailored based on market feedback.

Noriaki Abe, Chief Officer of Motorcycle and Power Products at Atlas Honda, expressed the company’s commitment to providing superior offerings to society and customers. He highlighted the integral role Honda products play in the daily lives of many Pakistanis and acknowledged the enduring success of the joint venture between Atlas Group and Honda Motor Company since 1963.
During the ceremony, Shinji Aoyama, Executive Vice President and CEO of Honda Motor Company, emphasized that the mobility industry is undergoing rapid transformation, positioning Honda Motor well for the future. Saquib H Shirazi, President and CEO of Atlas Honda, outlined the company’s achievements, citing a 95% localization rate, an expansive network of local auto parts manufacturers and dealers, and significant direct employment opportunities.

Despite challenges in the motorcycle industry, including a 5% month-on-month and 11% year-on-year decline in sales in October, Atlas Honda Limited reported a remarkable 152% surge in net profit for the first quarter of the financial year 2023-24. This impressive performance was attributed to strong growth in sales and other income. Despite the industry’s challenges, Atlas Honda remains a market leader, contributing significantly to the country’s automotive sector.
