The Federal government, with cabinet approval, has appointed Ms. Nadia Jahangir Seth as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) for a three-year term, effective immediately. The decision reflects the government’s focus on strengthening the SME sector, a key driver of Pakistan’s economic growth and employment.

Nadia Jahangir Seth brings nearly two decades of experience within SMEDA, having joined the organization in 2002. Most recently, she served as General Manager of the Policy and Planning Division. She is widely recognized for her role in developing Pakistan’s National SME Policies and for leading the formulation of the country’s first National Women Entrepreneurship Policy & Action Plan.
Academically, Nadia holds a Master’s degree in Economics from GC University and a degree in Development Management from the University of Turin, Italy, along with specialized training from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. Her professional career includes extensive engagement with international development partners and representation of Pakistan at global forums, as well as leading key initiatives such as the SME chapter of the UAE–Pakistan Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
